ADSL Reselling Explained
ADSL reselling has become a major part of the reselling industry in recent years. More and more people are looking towards ADSL reselling as a way to supplement their income or even to completely supplant their income. It is a deceivingly easy process to resell ADSL and with a little knowledge of how broadband and ADSL works, and with some initial capital, almost anyone can become an ADSL reseller.
But just what does it mean to be an ADSL reseller? As with most reseller businesses, ADSL resellers pretty much do what their name say: they resell ADSL. In other words they purchase ADSL services from service providers then resell these services to other clients. Unlike resellers of health products and the like, ADSL resellers act more like brokers than actual sellers as they technically sell a service and then act as a liaison between the service provider and client.
ADSL resellers provide some advantages to the consumer. ADSL resellers do all the market research to find the best broadband connection offers available and then offer these deals to the consumer. Resellers have the knowledge of broadband markets and technology to help translate a user’s needs into a tangible solution. For some broadband users, resellers are also very convenient as they will sort out any connection problems with the service providers and have to worry about all the technical jargon that goes along with fault reporting.
But even though ADSL resellers are a convenient way to get broadband access there are some negative points that need to be mentioned. One downside is that consumers can expect to pay just a little bit more (at best) for the broadband access through a reseller than they would have paid for it directly from the service provider. Obviously the reseller needs to make a profit and that needs to come from somewhere.
Broadband support is another problem that many clients of ADSL resellers experience. The ADSL reseller stands as an extra step between the consumer and the service provider. If something goes wrong with the connection the client is not allowed, in many cases, to call the service provider directly but must work through the reseller. This can mean that repairing a problem with a broadband connection can take quite a bit longer.
Despite these problems ADSL reselling is still considered to be a lucrative
business for people that have the time and the inclination to do it. For
every horror story a person may have heard about ADSL reselling there
are more than enough happy and satisfied customers who have broadband
access without the technological headache that comes from understanding
the sometimes complex technologies.
